Persistent rain disrupted the first main-draw day at the SM Krishna Memorial Open ATP Challenger. All five singles matches and one doubles match were left unfinished at the SM Krishna Tennis Stadium. The weather also framed a positive local story, as 17-year-old wildcard Aradhya Kshitij secured a main-draw place earlier.
Officials dried the courts and prepared for play again around 6:30 p.m. That restart raised hopes of completing the evening programme. A second spell of rain then stopped action for good. As a result, every suspended contest and the unstarted ties were moved to Tuesday.
Several first-round singles matches stopped mid-game with Indian players involved. Seventh seed Karan Singh was level at 5-5 (30-0) against Mitsuki Wei Kang Leong.
Dominik Palan led Kokoro Isomura 6-4, 2-1 (30-30) when play ended. Ryuki Matsuda and Yusuke Takahashi were at 3-4 in the first set.
Two singles fixtures did not begin before the washout. Digvijaypratap Singh was due to face Leo Vithoontien, but did not start. Eighth seed Maximus Jones and Mukund Sasikumar also waited to take court. In men's doubles, Alastair Gray and Hamish Stewart were set to play Alex Hernandez and Takuya Kumasaka, but remained unstarted.
Before the rain took over, Aradhya Kshitij completed a strong qualifying run. The Bengaluru player defeated eighth seed Nitin Kumar Sinha 7-6 (2), 6-4 in the final round. Aradhya Kshitij followed that by holding nerve in key points. The result backed up an upset over the qualifying top seed a day earlier.
Aradhya Kshitij was described as one of Karnataka's leading junior prospects. Aradhya Kshitij was also a former India No.1 in the Under-16 category. Recent progress came through steady ITF junior circuit performances. Those results included a J200 title earlier in 2026.
