Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mohsin Khan has been turning heads in the ongoing IPL 2026 season with his lethal pace, steep bounce, and incredible economy rate. His ability to deliver under pressure has caught the attention of fans and experts alike.
Among his biggest admirers is former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan, who believes the young left-arm fast bowler has all the tools required to represent the Indian national team.
While Mohsin's talent has never been in doubt, his career has been frequently interrupted by debilitating injuries. Speaking on JioHotstar's 'Champions Waali Commentary', JioStar expert Irfan Pathan analyzed Mohsin's massive impact on the field, his recurring fitness concerns, and his undeniable potential to don the Indian
blue.
Pathan highlighted Mohsin's unique ability to bowl maiden overs that consistently result in crucial wickets, citing recent dismissals of promising youngster Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and aggressive opener Tim Seifert.
Praising the LSG star's high-quality bowling and unique physical attributes, Irfan Pathan laid out exactly what makes Mohsin Khan such a threat, while emphasizing the one hurdle standing between him and international cricket.
"Mohsin Khan, in this season of IPL, whenever he bowls a maiden over, always ensures to get the wicket of the batter. He did the same thing against Vaibhav Sooryavanshi last time and now against Tim Seifert, the same plan worked. When he dismissed Seifert, a run was taken through a leg bye, but Mohsin bowled well and took the wicket. He has bowled three maiden overs this season, and one of them was a wicket-maiden against a batter like Vaibhav Suryavanshi. That shows the high quality of Mohsin Khan.
If he manages to stay fit, no one can stop him from playing international cricket for India. His fitness is the only roadblock as he stays injured for long periods. It is unfortunate, but his bowling action puts a lot of strain on his body. A few seasons back, a hand injury kept him out of many games. Lucknow Super Giants supported him a lot during that phase and helped him recover. His left-arm angle is crucial and his biggest strength is the extra bounce he gets because of his height. He always bowls economical spells and when he bowls good length deliveries, batters struggle to score runs. Mohsin Khan is the only bowler this IPL season who has conceded the least runs when bowling good length deliveries and he is very stingy with runs, and that is his speciality. "
As Pathan noted, Mohsin brings a rare combination of height, a left-arm angle, and pinpoint accuracy on a good length. This combination generates extra bounce that leaves even the most established batters struggling for room. Furthermore, his discipline makes him the most economical bowler this IPL season when hitting the good-length area.
Fans of Indian cricket will be watching the tall left-armer closely, hoping his injury woes are finally a thing of the past.
