The entire was extremely well streamlined and managed in Hyderabad. Lionel Messi, along with two teammates, came and had a kick off the ball and then enjoyed some Tiki Taka football with youngsters. Following that, Messi witnessed a penalty shootout and then gave away the GOAT cup trophy to the winning team. Along the way, Messi had some pleasant exchanges with the Telangana CM and other people on the pitch, visibly looking very happy with the proceedings.
The Argentine showcased his skills, found the net, and played some passing game with Revanth Reddy, Suarez and De Paul as well. And after being handed a memento, the Telangana CM asked Messi to say a few words.
Amid arousing cheers inside the Hyderabad stadium, the Argentine thanked the crowd for the support and acknowledged the unadulterated love.
"Thank you for the affection shown today and always. The truth is that I saw many things before arriving here during all this time and during the last World Cup. Thank you very much for all the affection, it is an honor for us to be able to share these moments with you, so very grateful, thank you very much," Messi said.
Rodrigo De Paul and Luis Suarez also got their deserved moments and De Paul thanked the crowd for their support and love. The Inter Miami trio will be heading to Mumbai on Sunday, before their final journey to Delhi on Monday, thus concluding the GOAT tour.
The tour started in a disarray as the Kolkata event turned into a cacophony of chaos. After gross mismanagement, Messi left the Salt Lake stadium early and that angered the crowd, who vandalized the entire stadium and ignited fire. Police were forced into action, and the angry fans demanded a full refund and blamed it on the main organiser Satadru Dutta, who was later arrested.
