Manchester United have confirmed their 23-man travelling squad for Saturday's Snapdragon Cup fixture against Atletico de Madrid in Stockholm as preparations continue for the 2026/27 season.
The match, scheduled to kick off at 2:00 PM BST, will provide another valuable test for Michael Carrick's side against an Atletico Madrid team that reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals last season.
United's squad features a balanced mix of experienced first-team players and promising academy talents. Goalkeeper Altay Bayındır returns to the squad for the first time this pre-season after rejoining training at Carrington, while winger Amad is also back in contention after his return to fitness.
Several youngsters have once again earned opportunities to
impress, with academy prospects including JJ Gabriel, Shea Lacey, Jack Fletcher, Tyler Fletcher, Ethan Williams, Jim Thwaites, Dan Armer and Jaydan Kamason all making the trip to Sweden.
The travelling party also includes established names such as Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, Mason Mount, Bryan Mbeumo, Joshua Zirkzee and Andrey Santos, giving Carrick plenty of options ahead of another demanding pre-season encounter.
However, the game comes too soon for new arrivals Senne Lammens and Youri Tielemans, who only reported to Carrington on Thursday and have not yet been integrated into match preparations.
Facing one of Europe's strongest sides will provide Manchester United with another important opportunity to build match sharpness, assess squad depth and continue developing combinations before the Premier League campaign begins.
