Lionel Messi's GOAT Tour of India 2025 marks the football legend's return after 14 years, spanning December 13-15 across four cities: Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and New Delhi.
The Argentine football star
has already arrived in Kolkata and his three-day extravaganza begins at the City of Joy.
The tour kicks off on Saturday (December 13) in Kolkata at Salt Lake Stadium with a GOAT Concert, GOAT Cup featuring Indian icons like Sourav Ganguly and Bhaichung Bhutia, plus cultural events like a food festival and Messi's largest statue unveiling. On December 14, Messi heads to Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium and Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium for a Padel GOAT Cup, potentially with celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan and Sachin Tendulkar. It concludes December 15 in New Delhi with a meeting alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi and another GOAT Cup at Feroz Shah Kotla.
Messi, accompanied by teammates like Luis Suárez, will engage in meet-and-greets, seven-a-side matches, masterclasses, and concerts, blending football with Indian culture.
Lionel Messi to meet Cricketers
A number of cricketers are expected to be present at the Lionel Messi events across the country. The organizer of the event, Satadru Dutta, confirmed the crossover of cricket and football. Across the four cities of Messi's tour, we can expect former cricketers or current ones to be present.
Kolkata
Sourav Ganguly will be present at the Salt Lake Stadium for the event. Along with that, Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan will also grace the event at the City of Joy.
Hyderabad
At the moment, there's no confirmation of any cricketer being present for the Hyderabad leg.
Mumbai
Sachin Tendulkar, the India legend, may play a Padel Match with Messi. Along with that, MS Dhoni is rumoured to be present but nothing is confirmed.
Delhi
Shubman Gill is tipped to grace the event in Delhi, while the availability of Virat Kohli remains unconfirmed.
