Lionel Messi is set to visit Hyderabad on December 13, 2025, as part of his "GOAT Tour to India 2025. "
The visit was confirmed by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, making Hyderabad the fourth city on Messi's India tour after Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi. The Hyderabad event was added after the originally planned Argentina friendly in Kochi was cancelled, ensuring fans in southern India also get a chance to see Messi live.
The Hyderabad event is scheduled to be held at either the Gachibowli Stadium or the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, with activities planned including a celebrity football match, a football clinic, musical performances, and a football carnival atmosphere. Messi will participate in a 7v7 exhibition match alongside
young talents, and there will be penalty shootouts and fan celebrations. The Telangana government and local sports bodies are preparing extensively for the event with security and crowd management measures in place.
This addition to the tour expands the "GOAT Tour" into a nationwide football celebration covering the eastern, western, northern, and southern regions of India. Along with Messi, teammates like Luis Suarez and Rodrigo De Paul are also expected to participate during the tour. The Hyderabad event promises to be a historic and lively occasion for football fans in the region.
Along with the tour, Messi is a likely to play a friendly against CM Revanth Reddy's team comprised of school boys at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. As the Argentina star takes the field at the City of Nawabs, and security is being tightened for it. There can be esteemed members of the Hyderabad community who are likely to be present at the event. Reddy himself reviewed the preparations which are being made ahead of Messi's arrival at the city.
Messi will reach Kolkata on December 12 and after a host of events in Kolkata, he will be heading towards Hyderabad with a private chartered flight, scheduled to take off around 2:30 pm from the Bengal capital.
