Giannis Antetokounmpo is ruled out of the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, and De'Aaron Fox steps in. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver selects the San Antonio Spurs guard to replace the injured Milwaukee Bucks forward for Sunday's showcase, scheduled on 15 February at 5pm ET on NBC and Peacock.
Fox lines up for the USA Stripes squad, which faces Team World in the exhibition. Norman Powell moves from the USA Stripes roster into Antetokounmpo's former World spot, based on Powell's Jamaican heritage. Powell, now with Miami Heat and previously Toronto Raptors, strengthens Team World's backcourt rotation.
Antetokounmpo has not featured for Milwaukee since 23 January because of a right calf injury. The Greek forward still travels for All-Star weekend and assists
on the bench during Friday's All-Star Celebrity Game. Last month, Antetokounmpo is voted an All-Star Game starter for a 10th straight season.

Fox becomes the second San Antonio representative at this NBA All-Star Game. Victor Wembanyama features on the World roster, reflecting international talent depth. Spurs coach Mitch Johnson leads the USA Stripes team, giving San Antonio a strong presence across both the court and the sideline during the weekend.
The Spurs carry strong form into the break with a 38-16 record. San Antonio sits 4.5 games clear of the Houston Rockets in the Southwest Division. The team holds second place in the Western Conference, chasing leaders Oklahoma City Thunder, as attention briefly shifts to the NBA All-Star Game.
