Kevin Schade delivered a flawless hat-trick as Brentford beat Bournemouth 4-1, securing a sixth home league victory of the season. The result underlined Brentford’s strong Premier League form at the Gtech
Community Stadium under head coach Keith Andrews.
Brentford seized control early and never really lost it. Schade struck inside six minutes, added a second after half-time, then completed the treble in the 96th minute. Antoine Semenyo’s late reply offered Bournemouth brief hope, but the visitors left empty-handed.
The opening goal came when Igor Thiago slipped a smart pass through the Bournemouth defence after six minutes. Schade took a calm touch and guided the ball into the bottom-right corner, giving Brentford the perfect start in this Premier League contest.
Brentford doubled the advantage shortly before the interval. Bafode Diakite tried to clear a dangerous ball, but the attempted clearance struck Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic and bounced over the line. The own goal reflected Brentford’s early pressure and Bournemouth’s unsettled defending.
Andrews’ side moved 3-0 ahead in the 51st minute. Yehor Yarmoliuk swung in a cross from the right, and Schade reacted sharply, steering a close-range finish into the roof of the net. Brentford seemed in complete control at that stage.
Andoni Iraola responded with a triple substitution at half-time to spark Bournemouth. Justin Kluivert almost made an instant impact, glancing a header against the post. Soon after, Evanilson forced a strong save from Caoimhin Kelleher as Bournemouth finally built attacking momentum.
The visitors’ pressure told with 15 minutes left. Semenyo, whose future had been discussed throughout the week, produced a deft flick from close range to reduce the arrears. Bournemouth pushed forward again, but Brentford’s defence and Kelleher resisted further damage.
There was still late drama. Keane Lewis-Potter somehow headed wide from inside six yards, missing a clear chance that would usually be converted. Then David Brooks cleared Schade’s effort off the line, delaying the forward’s bid for a hat-trick.
Schade refused to be denied. Deep into stoppage time, in the 96th minute, Mikkel Damsgaard delivered a precise cross from the left. Schade dived low to direct a firm header past Petrovic, sealing a perfect hat-trick and a commanding Brentford win.

The match produced constant action, with a combined total of 35 shots. Brentford recorded 15 attempts, while Bournemouth registered 20. Expected goals also reflected an open game, with Brentford posting 3.46 xG against Bournemouth’s figure of 2.39.
Those numbers underline how both teams created chances throughout the contest. The key attacking data for the Premier League fixture is shown below.
Brentford’s latest success continued a strong sequence at the Gtech Community Stadium. The team now has six home league victories this season. Across the Premier League, only Arsenal, Manchester City and Aston Villa have collected more home wins.
Schade’s performance also carried historical significance. The forward finishes the calendar year as Brentford’s leading league scorer with 13 goals. Schade has furthermore become the first German player to record two or more hat-tricks in Premier League history.
For Bournemouth, the defeat extends a difficult period. Iraola’s team is now winless in nine matches in all competitions. That run matches a sequence from May to October 2023, which started under Gary O’Neil and then continued after Iraola took charge.
The result strengthens Brentford’s position in the Premier League’s middle group and maintains confidence at home under Andrews. Bournemouth, meanwhile, leave West London with more concerns, facing the task of ending a long winless spell in the coming fixtures.
