India begin their next chapter in the T20Is on tour as they take on Zimbabwe in a three-match series.
The three-match T20I series between India and Zimbabwe kicks off on Thursday (July 23) at the Harare Sports Club, with the first game scheduled for 4:30 PM local time (7:00 PM IST).
Defending T20 World Cup champions India, led by Shreyas Iyer, are touring Zimbabwe to rebuild momentum after recent setbacks. Zimbabwe, captained by the experienced Sikandar Raza, will look to challenge the visitors on home soil despite India's dominant 11-3 head-to-head record in T20Is.
Under Iyer, India has made a dismal start. After losing to Ireland 0-2, the Indian team succumbed to England as well. And as the Zimbabwe challenge beckons, Shreyas Iyer will be desperate
to get his first victory as India captain.
India have arrived in Harare and will field a young, experimental squad under captain Shreyas Iyer. The focus is on giving opportunities to debutant sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and other emerging talents like Abhishek Sharma, Harsh Dubey, and Mayank Yadav. Regular stars are rested, giving the side a fresh look after recent losses. Tilak Varma retains his vice-captaincy but faces competition for a middle-order spot. Ishan Kishan is likely to keep wickets.
Zimbabwe, led by Sikandar Raza, have named a strong 15-man squad and will rely on home conditions and their experienced core including Blessing Muzarabani and Ryan Burl. They aim to challenge India's dominance at Harare Sports Club.
