Mumbai Indians (MI), the most successful franchise in IPL history with five titles, entered the IPL 2026 auction with their team almost sorted out.
The IPL 2025 season marked a significant turnaround for
the Blue and Gold brigade after a dismal bottom-place finish the previous year. Under Hardik Pandya's captaincy, MI started slowly, losing four of their first five matches, but engineered a stunning recovery, winning nine of their last ten league games to qualify for the playoffs.
As a result, the Paltans have gone forward with a similar approach in the auction. Ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction, MI prioritized continuity, retaining a robust 20-player core, including key trades.
