Commonwealth Games 2026: Day four promises to be one of the busiest and most exciting days of the Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2026, with the athletics and para athletics competitions getting underway for the first time. A total of 27 gold medals will be up for grabs across multiple disciplines, making it a pivotal day in the race for medals.
One of the standout events of the day will be the men's 50m breaststroke final, where Adam Ramsay-Peaty will look to successfully defend his Commonwealth title in the newly introduced Olympic event that will also feature at the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
The athletics programme at Scotstoun Stadium will see nine champions crowned, including the women's 10,000m. However, defending champion Eilish McColgan will be
absent after being ruled out of the Games with a fractured foot. The schedule also features medal events in the men's high jump and men's hammer throw.
Artistic gymnastics will stage five apparatus finals, with medals to be decided in the men's floor exercise, pommel horse and still rings, alongside the women's vault and uneven bars. Weightlifting will also be in focus, with three gold medals set to be awarded during the day's competition.
