Giorgio Chiellini has stated that Juventus is not in a hurry to secure a new contract for Kenan Yildiz. The playmaker has been impressive this season, netting three goals and assisting four times across
all competitions. Yildiz, who is 20 years old and represents Turkiye internationally, remains contracted with the club until the end of the 2028-29 season.
Yildiz has also created 30 chances this season, showcasing his importance to the team. Initial discussions between his representatives and Juventus have begun. However, Chiellini, now serving as the director of football strategy at Juventus, emphasized there is no immediate need to finalize a deal. He remarked at the Social Football Summit: "Slowly and calmly [we are working on it]. Everyone wants to make it happen. "
The club recently experienced a managerial change after dismissing Igor Tudor following an eight-game winless streak. Luciano Spalletti has since taken over as head coach. Currently, Juventus trails Serie A leaders Inter by five points. Chiellini believes that the team must maintain realistic expectations for this season.
Chiellini acknowledged that while the upcoming months will be challenging, they will also be invigorating. Reflecting on Juventus' recent history, he noted: "After a golden decade, the last three years have been tougher than others, but there's still a light. " He expressed confidence in the club's ability to navigate these changes successfully.
He further elaborated on his vision for Juventus' future: "There's a much brighter light than what we can see now. Of course, it's more tiring, but I see at the end of this path, a train travelling far and bringing Juventus back to that normality of knowing how to win, accepting defeat and learning from challenges.
