Tvesa Malik ended a winless run of more than two years with a tense play-off win over Anvitha Narender in Pune. She took the third leg of the Hero Women's Pro Golf Tour at Oxford Golf Resort with a total of 1-over 217.
The event finished on February 12, with Tvesa drawing on past success. Her previous win came in September 2023 at DLF Gurugram. She started the final round one shot behind Anvitha but drew level on the fourth hole after a bogey against Anvitha's double bogey.
Lead changes on the back nine
Anvitha dropped further shots on the sixth and eighth holes. She then pulled one back with a birdie on the ninth. Tvesa led by one after nine and stretched that to two shots with a birdie on the 11th before a double bogey on the 12th.
The double bogey brought Anvitha back level.
She bogeyed the 13th but showed resilience with birdies on the 15th and 16th. Tvesa also birdied the 15th to stay in touch. The pair stood level again with two holes left in regulation play.
On the 17th, Tvesa bogeyed and slipped one behind as Anvitha made par. Tvesa then needed a birdie on the 18th to stay alive. She produced it under pressure, as both players finished tied at 1-over 217 to force a play-off.
Play-off composure and chasing pack
Tvesa relied on her experience in the play-off. She held her nerve to secure a long-awaited win and now aims to rebuild form on tour. Anvitha settled for second place after leading into the final round and staying close throughout the day.
Riya Jadon carded 74 and finished third alone. She made three birdies and five bogeys, including a damaging run of three straight bogeys from the 14th to the 16th. That spell likely ended her chance to push the leading pair.
Amateur Aradhana Manikandan shot 72 and shared fourth place with seasoned player Vani Kapoor, who also returned 72. They were the only golfers to score even par in the final round. There were no under par scores on the closing day at Oxford Golf Resort.
Mannat Brar posted 74 and took sixth. Ridhima Dilawari shot 75, while Karishma Govind had 74 and Shagun Narain 76, with the trio tied seventh. Vidhatri Urs closed with 74 and completed the top ten. Ridhima continues to lead the Hero Order of Merit.
Vani is now second on the Hero Order of Merit, and Jasmine Shekar holds third place. The tour remains in Pune, with the fourth leg at Poona Club Golf Course from February 17 to 19. February 16 is reserved as the official practice round.
