PSV secure the Eredivisie title for a 27th time, with a 17-point advantage now impossible to overturn after Feyenoord drop points. The Eindhoven club celebrate a third straight league crown and also set a new record for the earliest title clinched by date in Eredivisie history.
The decisive moment comes away from Eindhoven, as second-placed Feyenoord are held to a 0-0 draw by 14th-placed Volendam at Kras Stadion. Robin van Persieโs team need victory to keep the race alive but fail to score, allowing PSVโs huge lead to become mathematically out of reach.
Volendam restrict Feyenoord despite facing heavy pressure, and the underlying numbers underline that effort. Volendam record an expected goals figure of 1.45 from 13 attempts, while Feyenoord finish
on 1.23 xG from 17 shots, four of which test the goalkeeper, yet none find the net.
Peter Bosz and PSV players watch events with tension, knowing Feyenoordโs result will decide the title timing. Once the goalless draw is confirmed, celebrations begin, as the club surpasses its own previous mark for earliest championship, set on April 8, 1978, adding another landmark to this campaign.

PSVโs latest title forms part of an impressive modern sequence, matching the three consecutive championships Ajax collect between 2019 and 2022 under Erik ten Hag. Bosz now joins a select group of coaches who oversee extended success with the Eindhoven club in the Dutch top flight.
Across PSV history, only two previous eras bring longer league streaks. Jan Reker and Guus Hiddink guide the team to four straight titles between 1986 and 1989, during a spell that also includes the European Cup win in 1988. Between 2005 and 2008, Sef Vergoossen, Ronald Koeman and Hiddink share another run of four championships.
The league could have been decided earlier still, after PSV defeat Utrecht 4-3 in a dramatic match one day before Feyenoordโs slip. Artem Stepanov and Gjivai Zechiel hand Utrecht a 2-0 lead inside 13 minutes, before Ismael Saibari pulls one back for PSV in the 21st minute.
The second half in Eindhoven swings sharply towards the champions. Saibari scores again, and Guus Til adds another within four minutes, turning the score to 3-2 for PSV. Jesper Karlsson equalises eight minutes from full time, but Couhaib Driouech settles the contest with a 94th-minute strike.
Driouechโs winner comes after a run from the left side, cutting inside before shooting past Vasilios Barkas, with the ball squeezing into the net. That late goal secures the victory that sets up the title confirmation, completing a weekend that strengthens PSVโs modern dominance of the Eredivisie.
