IND U19 vs SA U19: With the series already sealed 2-0, India U-19 head into the third and final Youth ODI against South Africa carrying strong momentum and the confidence of a side that has dominated both contests despite heavy weather interruptions. The young Indian team, which clinched the second ODI via the DLS method after an eight-wicket win, will now be eyeing a clean sweep to cap off a commanding tour.
In the second match, skipper Vaibhav Suryavanshi produced one of the most explosive innings at the U-19 level, smashing 68 off just 24 deliveries, including 10 towering sixes.
His blistering knock shifted the game dramatically in India's favour before repeated lightning delays forced DLS interventions. India were 176 for two in 23.3 overs
when the match was eventually called off, with Vedant Trivedi (31)* and Abhigyan Kundu (48)* guiding the chase professionally.
South Africa, meanwhile, will be searching for a turnaround after failing to capitalize on key opportunities. Opener Jason Rowles stood out with a superb 114 off 117 balls in the second ODI, holding the Proteas innings together and helping them post 245. However, the rest of the batting lineup struggled to stay with him, undone by disciplined Indian bowling. Kishan Singh's 4/46 and RS Ambrish's 2/47 ensured regular breakthroughs, preventing South Africa from pushing towards a bigger total.
As the teams prepare for the final match of the series, India may consider testing their bench strength, though the temptation to secure a clean sweep could keep the core group intact. The biggest positive for India has been the composure shown in rain-hit situations and the explosive batting depth led by Suryavanshi.
For South Africa, the final ODI offers a chance to restore pride and salvage something from a series where the margins in key moments have gone against them. Rowles' form is encouraging, but they will need a collective performance to challenge a high-flying Indian unit.
With weather again a factor in Benoni, both sides will hope for clearer skies as the series finale promises another exciting chapter between two promising youth teams.
