FC Barcelona will look to seal the deal when they face their arch-rival Real Madrid in the third El Clásico of the 2025-26 season. The match could prove detrimental for the Catalan Giants, as they have the chance to win La Liga should they win their match against Los Blancos at the Camp Nou.
Hansi Flick's side is currently at the top of the La Liga table, with a gap of nearly 11 points from the second-placed Real Madrid. So a win or a draw will be more than enough for Barca to clinch the La Liga trophy. However, that said, the task won't be a piece of cake for the Catalan side, given their most prolific winger, Lamine Yamal, will be sitting on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury in the game against Celta Vigo.
The Catalan giants
wrapped up their final training session with Lamine Yamal as the only key absentee, offering an update on squad availability.
Barcelona vs Real Madrid: Lamine Yamal Fitness Update
The Spanish winger tore his hamstring while taking a penalty during a La Liga match against Celta Vigo on April 22. The initial medical reports ruled him out for nearly six to eight weeks, effectively sidelining him from the remainder of the campaign, and raised a big question mark over his participation in the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026.
However, according to reports, it is confirmed that Yamal is already back in training and working out in the gym, which is a positive sign that he is recovering well from his injury. According to fresh reports, it is certain that the left-hander will be available for the World Cup 2026.
Spanish Boss Confident On His Trump Card
Luis de la Fuente has expressed confidence that Lamine Yamal will be in peak condition for the World Cup, despite the youngster missing the closing stages of the season with FC Barcelona. Speaking at an event promoting his autobiography, De la Fuente highlighted Yamal's commitment and pointed to what he described as "invisible training" as a key factor behind his development.
"Apart from his great talent, that he trains three hours a day, goes to the gym, visits his physio, his nutritionist and his psychologist, and gives himself to his invisible training, which is the most important thing," he said, as quoted by Sport.
"Invisible training is something that many people are unaware of. It's about being 24 hours thinking about your work. Nobody gives Lamine anything. I talk about Lamine because I know him very well. God willing, he will arrive at the World Cup as well as possible," he added.
