Atletico Madrid's manager, Diego Simeone, acknowledges the team's recent lack of decisiveness but remains optimistic. Despite their struggles away from home, he is confident as they prepare to face PSV
in the Champions League. Atletico have suffered defeats in their last two LaLiga away games against Athletic Club and Barcelona. Additionally, they lost both of their Champions League away matches to Liverpool and Arsenal.
Atletico's performance at home has been strong, with 13 of their last 17 Champions League victories occurring there. They are currently on a six-game winning streak at home in the competition. However, they have lost their last three away games in Europe. The team has only experienced a four-game losing streak once before in the European Cup/Champions League between April and November 2022.
Simeone expressed his thoughts during a press conference, acknowledging that the results haven't been as favourable as desired. He highlighted that despite some good performances in away games over the past 14 years, decisiveness has been lacking. "The results haven't been as positive as we would have liked," Simeone said. "We did many good things in away games; I'd say that to be where we've been these past 14 years, we must have won away games. For me, it all comes down to decisiveness. "
In their recent matches against Real Betis and Getafe, Atletico showed promise but failed to capitalise on opportunities. They scored early against Betis but struggled to maintain pressure until late against Getafe. Simeone noted that teams often find it challenging when playing away from home.

Currently sitting 12th in the Champions League standings with nine points, Atletico are just one point behind eighth-placed Sporting CP as they approach the sixth round of matches. Despite losing their last two league games, they secured victories against Union Saint-Gilloise and Inter in Europe.
Atletico boasts a strong record against PSV Eindhoven, remaining unbeaten in their last six encounters with the Dutch team (four wins and two draws). Only against Celtic (eight times) and Lokomotiv Moscow (seven times) have they faced an opponent more frequently without defeat.
Simeone remains unfazed by concerns about a potential bad run for his team. He emphasised that players are accustomed to frequent matches and acknowledged football's unpredictable nature. "The players are so used to playing so frequently," he stated. "Football has changes within the game. The important thing is to do things right. "
As Atletico Madrid prepares for their upcoming match against PSV Eindhoven, Simeone's focus remains on ensuring his team performs well on the field. While doing things correctly doesn't guarantee victory, he believes that mistakes almost certainly lead to failure.
