Ousmane Dembele insisted Paris Saint-Germain will stay true to their attacking style when the Champions League semi-final returns to Munich, after a 5-4 first-leg win over Bayern Munich left the tie finely poised and thrilled supporters across Europe and the Middle East.
The first leg at Parc des Princes set a Champions League semi-final scoring record, with nine goals shared in a contest that also matched Rangers 3-6 Eintracht Frankfurt from 1959-60 as the joint-highest scoring semi-final across the European Cup era.
Dembele, who scored twice, believes the second leg on 5 May at the Allianz Arena will bring more drama, and stressed that PSG will not switch to a cautious approach despite holding only a narrow one-goal lead from the first meeting
in Paris.
And Dembele has vowed there is more excitement to come in next week's contest in Munich. Two great teams that attack, that don't hesitate, he told Canal+. It's a Champions League semi-final. We're happy with the result, even if at 5-2 we stopped playing a bit. We were lacking a bit of everything. It was an incredible match. We're going to Munich to win and qualify. We're not going to change our philosophy, we're going to attack, they're going to attack.
Bayern played without Vincent Kompany on the touchline, with the coach serving a suspension and watching from the stands, yet still struck first when Harry Kane converted a 17th-minute penalty, before European champions PSG responded with goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Joao Neves.
Michael Olise levelled with a fine finish, then Dembele restored PSG's advantage from the spot after Alphonso Davies was penalised for handball just before half-time, a decision viewed as harsh by many observers, as the French side headed into the break 3-2 ahead.
Early in the second half Kvaratskhelia and Dembele each added another goal as PSG surged into a 5-2 lead, but Bayern refused to fold, pulling the score back to 5-4 through efforts from Dayot Upamecano and Luis Diaz to keep the semi-final very much alive.

Champions League semi-final PSG vs Bayern: Marquinhos equals Brazilian appearance record
PSG captain Marquinhos reached a personal landmark during the first leg, making a 120th Champions League appearance, which moved Marquinhos level with Roberto Carlos as the Brazilian player with the most games in the competition, behind only Lionel Messi's 163 appearances among South Americans.
PSG captain Marquinhos told Canal+: All football fans loved watching this match. On the pitch, it was a pleasure to play this game. These are the matches we dream about all year. Both teams have this mentality of never giving up, of always pushing forward.
Speaking to Amazon Prime, Marquinhos said he expects another crazy game at the Allianz Arena. Two teams that want to win, we need to go there with the same mentality, same personality, so we can do an amazing job there, like we did here. We need a lot of effort, he said.
With PSG holding only a single-goal edge and Bayern boosted by their late fightback, the second leg in Munich is set to test both teams' attacking principles and physical levels, with Dembele, Marquinhos and team-mates needing another intense performance to secure a place in the Champions League final.
