Sanju Samson has scored an unbeaten century in the IPL 2026 match against Mumbai Indians on Thursday (April 23).
The Chennai Super Kings batter played throughout the innings and scored 101 off 54 deliveries, hitting 10 fours and 6 sixes in his knock. Sanju was scintillating on the night, as the new CSK boy decimated the MI bowling expertly, playing a decorated knock yet again for his team.
Sanju brought up his 5th IPL century, and the second for Chennai Super Kings this season. Earlier, he scored another unbeaten ton against the Delhi Capitals.
With this, Sanju has now also become the 9th batter to score multiple centuries in an IPL season. The Kerala-born batter has joined an elite list which consists the likes of Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and
others. He is also the first Indian player for CSK to score multiple centuries in an IPL season.
Virat Kohli still holds the record for most centuries in a season, when he scored 4 in IPL 2016. England's Jos Buttler also scored four in a season during his days with the Rajasthan Royals.

Sanju Samson has now equalled KL Rahul with 5 IPL centuries, which means he is now joint 2nd in the list. Virat Kohli still tops the centuries chart in IPL with 8 three-figure score over the years.

Shane Watson (2), Ruturaj Gaikwad (2) and Murali Vijay (2) are the other three CSK players as Sanju has become only the fourth to score multiple centuries in IPL for the franchise.
