Jonathan David ended a long wait for a goal as Juventus beat Sassuolo 3-0, and the reaction from the squad underlined strong unity in Turin. The Canadian forward scored and assisted, while Juventus recorded a third straight Serie A away victory.
That 3-0 success meant Juventus won three consecutive league games on the road for the first time since the spell between December 2023 and January 2024, when Massimiliano Allegri was in charge. The result also arrived after scrutiny of Jonathan David’s adaptation at the club.
Jonathan David had gone 16 matches without scoring across Ligue 1 and Serie A, the longest barren run of the forward’s career. Against Sassuolo, that sequence ended in clinical style as Jonathan David struck after already setting
up a goal for Fabio Miretti.
The assist for Fabio Miretti came first, and Jonathan David then found the net only 110 seconds later. It was the first time in Jonathan David’s career that the striker both scored and provided an assist in an away fixture, highlighting an efficient all-round display in Emilia-Romagna.
After Jonathan David made it 3-0, the reaction on the pitch was immediate and collective. Every Juventus outfield player, the substitutes and Luciano Spalletti rushed to celebrate with Jonathan David, a clear show of support following recent speculation around dressing-room relationships in Turin.

Speaking to DAZN Italia, Jonathan David underlined how much the shared celebrations meant after the difficult period. "It's a nice touch, everyone here is so supportive of me and the team, so it's a great omen that everyone can celebrate together. I really appreciate this," Jonathan David told the broadcaster.
Jonathan David also stressed the importance of the moment for collective momentum rather than personal relief. "I think it's a good goal, it comes at the right time for myself and the team. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that we get back on the winning track. "
Reports before the match had suggested Jonathan David had struggled to connect with Juventus team-mates since arriving in Turin, but Luciano Spalletti felt events against Sassuolo sent a different message. The head coach said the squad’s behaviour reflected what those within the camp already understood.
"Everyone had taken a firm stance, because it's different when you are inside a situation, so when you receive all those insults and comments, I would've been surprised if the team hadn't acted as a shield to protect him," the head coach added. "[David] sensed that during the last few days, and put in a great performance tonight. Seeing as he scored a goal, too, that just confirmed how many friends he has in the locker room. "
The performance against Sassuolo gave Juventus another away victory, restored some confidence after Jonathan David’s long goal drought, and highlighted visible backing from Luciano Spalletti and the squad. For Juventus, the night reinforced both improving form on the road and a tight dressing-room around the Canadian forward.
