The WPL 2026 mega auction is set to take place on November 27 in New Delhi, as all five franchises look to rebuild their squads from scratch. A total of 277 players-194 Indians and 83 overseas-will compete
for 73 vacant slots.
The teams have budgets ranging from Rs 5-14 crore after player retentions, which shapes their auction strategies to balance marquee signings and squad depth. Each team must have between 15 to 18 players, including a maximum of six overseas players, with at least 50 Indian players to be signed overall.
Top overseas stars like Alyssa Healy, Laura Wolvaardt will be headlining this auction, while the Indian stars such as Deepti Sharma and Harleen Deol are also up for grabs. This auction marks a fresh opportunity for uncapped players to secure high-value contracts and establish themselves on the national and international stage through the WPL platform.
As women's cricket continues to grow and reach greater heights, some future stars are set for attention and likely a bidding war at the auction table.
Vaishnavi Sharma
Vaishnavi Sharma, a 20-year-old left-arm spinner from Madhya Pradesh, was a key player in India's ICC Women's U-19 T20 World Cup 2025 triumph.
She took 17 wickets in 6 matches, maintaining an economy rate of 3.36. On her debut against Malaysia, Sharma produced a historic spell, taking 5 wickets for just 5 runs in 4 overs, including a hat-trick-the first by an Indian in the tournament's history. Apart from that, she picked up 21 wickets in the senior Women's T20 Trophy, thus making herself a key player to watch in the auction.
Deeya Yadav
At the age of 16, Deeya Yadav has already created a buzz like her predecessor from Haryana, Shafali Verma. Deeya scored 298 runs in the Senior Women's T20 trophy, at an average of 59. She is a hard-hitting batter and can be in demand as many teams would love to have someone like her. Deeya also scored a magnificent 213 off just 125 balls against Tripura in a Women's U-15 One Day match a couple of years ago.
Prema Rawat
Prema Rawat played for RCB Women in the last edition but was left out ahead of the auction. The youngster from Uttarakhand is a leg spinner who has rose to prominence in recent times. Rawat starred for India A in a recent tour to Australia and picked up 7 wickets in three T20 matches. She did decently in the Women's T20 Trophy as well. As a bowling all-rounder, she has enough quality with bat, and is likely to be in demand in the auction.
Sushmita Ganguly
Sushmita Ganguly has been a revelation in recent times for Bengal. The 22-year-old rose to prominence with Murshidabad Kueens in the BPL T20, and then continued her rich form in the senior Women's T20 Trophy, albeit in just one knock. The hard-hitting all-rounder also bowls decent off spin and is someone to keep an eye on ahead of mega auction.
Joshitha VJ
Joshitha VJ, a 19-year-old cricketer from Wayanad, Kerala, is a right-arm medium-fast bowler and a right-handed batter. She has played for Kerala in domestic cricket and was bought by RCB Women for WPL 2025. Joshitha was a key player in India's Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025 victory, taking six wickets, including a match-winning 2-for-5 against the West Indies. Known for her pace, control, and composure under pressure, Joshitha can garner interest from multiple franchises in the auction.
Amandeep Kaur
A left-arm chinaman spinner, Amandeep Kaur has been with Mumbai Indians for the last two WPL seasons, but hasn't played a single match. The 22-year-old picked up 12 wickets for Haryana in senior Women's T20 trophy, and then did extremely well for North Zone in the zonal trophy as well.
