Indian cricket's extraordinary run of success across formats and categories took centre stage on Monday evening as the Reliance Foundation hosted the 'United in Triumph' gala at Mumbai's Jio World Centre.
The evening brought together three World Cup-winning captains in a rare and symbolic gathering-Rohit Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepika TC-each representing a landmark achievement for Indian cricket.
Nita Ambani, founder and chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, described the event as a collective expression of gratitude to athletes who delivered three global titles in a single calendar year. "Sport joins hearts and India," she said while addressing the gathering. "Today we are united in triumph. We are celebrating these three captains whose leadership, resilience, and belief have inspired a nation. "

Rohit Sharma was honoured for guiding India's men's team to T20 World Cup glory in Barbados, a campaign that reaffirmed his legacy as one of the country's most successful white-ball leaders. Harmanpreet Kaur was recognised for captaining the women's team to their recent ICC ODI World Cup title, capped by a memorable victory over South Africa in the final.
Sharing the spotlight was Deepika TC, captain of the Indian Women's Blind Cricket Team, whose leadership led to a historic triumph in the inaugural Women's T20 World Cup for the Blind in Sri Lanka. India remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and sealed the title with a convincing seven-wicket win over Nepal in the final. Deepika's individual performances-including a commanding 91 against Australia-further underlined her impact.
Deepika's felicitation stood out as a powerful statement on inclusion in Indian sport. Coming from a farming family in Karnataka, her journey from grassroots cricket to world champion has made her a symbol of determination and opportunity. The Foundation highlighted her efforts not only on the field but also her advocacy for equal recognition of blind cricket.
The gala witnessed a strong presence from the Indian cricketing fraternity. Senior men's and women's stars such as Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues attended the event, alongside blind cricket vice-captain Ganga Kadam.
As India enters the 2026 international season, the Reliance Foundation reiterated its commitment to developing high-performance ecosystems across both able-bodied and para-sports. The recognition of champions across categories marked a significant step toward integrating inclusive sport into India's mainstream sporting narrative.
