West Ham's head coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, expressed his desire for the team to maintain focus after their 3-2 comeback win against Burnley. This victory marked their first consecutive wins since October
2024. Despite falling behind to Zian Flemming's header from Leslie Ugochukwu's cross, Callum Wilson equalised before halftime with his second goal for the club.
With 13 minutes left, Tomas Soucek capitalised on a mistake by goalkeeper Martin Dubravka to put West Ham ahead. Kyle Walker-Peters then extended the lead by scoring from a rebound after Soucek's long-range attempt. Although Josh Cullen scored for Burnley, West Ham secured the win and matched Burnley's goal difference. This victory followed another comeback win against Newcastle, marking their first back-to-back Premier League wins after conceding first since December 2014.
Nuno Espirito Santo acknowledged the team's improved form but stressed the challenges ahead. He told BBC Sport, "I am happy for the boys and our fans. This was a massive game for us. The goal we conceded, the reaction was good. We have proved we want to change things, we want to be strong characters. "
Tomas Soucek now shares the record for most Premier League goals by a Czech player with Patrick Berger at 38 goals. Starting on the bench, Soucek made a significant impact as a substitute with both a goal and an assist. He stated his commitment to helping the team in any capacity: "I would love to be starting but I do for the team whatever. "
Soucek expressed satisfaction with their home win and looked forward to the international break with optimism: "We can go into the international break with a great feeling because we are building something. " He noted that securing their first win had positively transformed the training ground atmosphere.

Burnley's Defensive Struggles
Burnley's manager Scott Parker felt his team had opportunities to win despite losing. He told BBC Sport, "I thought the game was there for us to win. " Parker believed changes from the bench could have altered the game's outcome but acknowledged defensive lapses cost them dearly.
Burnley has now conceded at least twice in seven consecutive away games in the Premier League. This is their longest such streak since between August 2009 and January 2010. Parker admitted concerns over defensive errors: "In crucial moments there was definitely some switching off. "
The recent victories have boosted West Ham's morale as they aim to build on this momentum post-international break. Nuno Espirito Santo remains cautious about getting carried away despite these positive results at London Stadium.
