Sean Dyche celebrated his first Premier League victory with Nottingham Forest as they triumphed 3-1 over Leeds United. This win ended Forest's nine-game streak without a league victory, a dry spell that
began after their opening weekend success under Nuno Espirito Santo. Despite Leeds taking an early lead, Forest managed to turn the game around impressively.
Leeds initially took control in the 13th minute when Lukas Nmecha scored past goalkeeper Matz Sels, capitalising on Nicolo Savona's error. However, Forest quickly responded. Ibrahim Sangare netted his first goal for the club just over two minutes later, finishing after Lucas Perri could only deflect Dan Ndoye's cross.
Morgan Gibbs-White then put Forest ahead midway through the second half with a precise header from Omari Hutchinson's cross. Hutchinson played a crucial role again in stoppage time by drawing a foul from Jack Harrison in the penalty area. Elliot Anderson converted the resulting penalty decisively, ensuring Leeds had no chance of a comeback.
Despite scoring first, Leeds faced significant pressure early on, conceding eight shots within the first 20 minutes. This was their highest number at this stage of a league match since December 2021 against Manchester City. Under Daniel Farke, it was also their first loss after scoring the opening goal in 53 matches.

Gibbs-White's Impactful Performance
Morgan Gibbs-White was instrumental for Forest, scoring his fourth headed goal of 2025 and getting all three of his shots on target. Only Brentford’s Kevin Schade has more headed goals this year with five. This marked Forest’s first Premier League win after conceding first in 17 games since their comeback against Aston Villa last December.
Dyche’s team remains in 19th place but is now just one point behind Burnley in 17th and two points adrift of Leeds in 16th position. The victory provides hope for Forest as they aim to climb out of the relegation zone and secure their place in the Premier League standings.
