Aditi Ashok Tied-11th While Avani Prashanth Climbs Into Top-20 At Open De Espana

Aditi Ashok and Avani Prashanth are making waves at the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de Espana. Aditi, a past champion of this tournament, is just outside the top ten, sitting at T-11 with a score of 5-under

139 after shooting a 2-under 70. Meanwhile, Avani has climbed into the top 20, finishing her second round with an impressive 3-under 69 to reach 4-under overall.

Thailand's Trichat Cheenglab set a new course record with a stunning round of 63 (-9), leading by seven strokes at the halfway point. Starting strong, she birdied holes two, three, and four consecutively at Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf. She continued her momentum with birdies on the sixth and seventh holes and finished with three consecutive birdies to cap off her career-best round on the Ladies European Tour (LET).

Among other Indian players, Pranavi Urs shot a 71 to sit at T-47 with a total of 1-over. Hitaashee Bakshi and Diksha Dagar both ended their rounds at T-64 with scores of 5-over. All three are aiming for strong finishes in this season-ending event following their top-five performances in the Hero Women's Indian Open.

Aditi's round included three birdies against one bogey, while Avani's aggressive play resulted in six birdies but was marred by a bogey on the third and a double bogey on the 16th. Pranavi had three birdies offset by two bogeys. Diksha managed one birdie but also had two bogeys and a double bogey. Hitaashee recorded three birdies but struggled with five bogeys and a double bogey.

Italy's Alessandra Fanali surged into second place after carding a round of 66 (-6) on day two. French golfers Nastasia Nadaud and Celine Herbin share third place at seven-under-par after two days of play. Six players are close behind at six-under-par, including England's Mimi Rhodes and Singapore's Shannon Tan, who are both vying for the LET Order of Merit title.

Mimi Rhodes and Shannon Tan both shot rounds of 67 (-5) on day two in Malaga. They will continue to compete in the same group for the third consecutive day as they chase down Cheenglab's lead.
