Spain's national football team is focusing on their upcoming World Cup qualifiers, despite the unexpected withdrawal of Lamine Yamal due to injury. Yamal was initially included in the squad for matches against Georgia and Turkiye. However, he had to step back after undergoing a minor procedure without consulting Spain's medical team. The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) expressed surprise at this development.
Pablo Fornals, a midfielder for Real Betis, emphasized the importance of staying focused on the upcoming games. "Yamal's absence is obvious," Fornals stated during a news conference. "But we can't dwell on it because we have two very important matches ahead. " He mentioned briefly seeing Yamal and wished him a speedy recovery, acknowledging
that injuries are never welcome.

Fornals is thrilled to be back with the national team after last playing in November 2021 against Greece. He has been capped six times and has played under coaches Vicente del Bosque and Luis Enrique. "Every minute with the national team is pure glory," he shared. Fornals received numerous congratulatory messages upon his return, more than even on his birthday.
Versatility and Performance
This season, Fornals has contributed significantly to his club with four assists in 12 LaLiga matches and two goals. His versatility allows him to play both defensive and attacking midfield roles. "Where the manager sees me is a question I ask myself," he said, expressing readiness to perform wherever needed by coach Luis de la Fuente.
Spain needs just one victory from their upcoming qualifiers against Georgia on 15 November and Turkiye on 18 November to secure their spot in next year's World Cup. Coach De la Fuente, known for his dedication and passion, leads the team as they aim for success in these crucial matches.
