India bounced back from 25/3 to defeat the USA by six wickets via DLS in a rain-hit match in Bulawayo, while West Indies edged debutants Tanzania by five wickets in Windhoek. Zimbabwe's game against Scotland in Harare was abandoned due to rain without a ball bowled.
India overcame an early collapse to chase a revised DLS target of 96 in 37 overs against the USA. Henil Patel dominated with 5/16, bundling USA out for 107 in 35.2 overs despite Nitish Sudini's gritty 36. India slumped to 25/3 after lightning delays, but Abhigyan Kundu's unbeaten 42 guided them home with a massive six.
West Indies Edge Tanzania
In Tanzania's U19 World Cup debut, West Indies chased 123 with a five-wicket win. Tanzania reached 122 in 34 overs, led by Dylan Thakrar's 26, but Vitel Lawes (3/23)
and others dismantled them. Tanez Francis (52) and Jewel Andrew (44) steadied West Indies' reply before Shamar Apple sealed victory off the last ball.
Rain Ruins Zimbabwe-Scotland Clash
Persistent rain forced abandonment in Harare, leaving co-hosts Zimbabwe and Scotland pointless. Zimbabwe face England on January 18; Scotland meet Pakistan on January 19.
