Social media buzz surrounds Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal after their planned November 23 wedding in Sangli was postponed due to health issues affecting Smriti's father,
Shrinivas, who required hospitalization on the ceremony day.
Palash was admitted the following day in Sangli before transfer to Mumbai, with Smriti's business manager confirming the delay stemmed from these emergencies. Both have since been discharged, yet no rescheduled date has been shared by the families.
Instagram Bio Update Fuels Rumors
Smriti removed most wedding-related Instagram posts, retaining only casual photos with Palash, which intensified online speculation about a possible split. Both then added identical 'nazar' emojis (🧿) to their Instagram bios, prompting fans to interpret it as a subtle reassurance amid breakup theories.
There have been controversy regarding Palash's recent act, where screenshots were shared by a certain Mary D'Costa, which indicated an alleged cheating by the groom. Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal both remain tight-lipped on that issue for now.
Mandhana won the Women's World Cup recently and her supposed to be joyous moment has gone south with the recent developments. As an act of support, Jemimah Rodrigues, Mandhana's India teammate, decided to skip WBBL and stay beside her distruaght friend in these turbulent times.
Family Reassurances and Teammate Support
Palash's mother, Amita, expressed optimism, stating "Smriti and Palash dono takleef mein hain. Palash dreamt of coming home with his bride. I had even planned a special welcome. Everything will be fine, shaadi bohot jaldi hogi. " Team India teammate Jemimah Rodrigues withdrew from the Women's Big Bash League to support Smriti, adding to the intrigue despite family clarifications that health alone caused the postponement.
