WPL 2026: The Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 concluded on a thrilling note as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clinched their second title with a six-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals in the final at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi on Thursday.
The summit clash not only delivered high-quality cricket but also saw several standout performers being honoured for their consistency and match-winning contributions throughout the season.
RCB's triumph was built around a brilliant run chase. Pursuing a daunting target of 203, Bengaluru successfully reached 204/4 in 19.4 overs. The chase was anchored by skipper Smriti Mandhana, who produced a spectacular knock of 87 off 41 balls. Georgia Voll complemented her perfectly with a composed 79 off 54 deliveries
as the pair stitched together a decisive partnership that turned the contest in RCB's favour. Radha Yadav eventually sealed the victory by smashing consecutive boundaries to spark celebrations in the RCB camp.
Delhi Capitals made a strong statement earlier after being put in to bat, posting a challenging 203/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Chinelle Henry delivered a late flourish with a blistering unbeaten 35 off just 15 balls, including a destructive 19th over where she collected 24 runs. Laura Wolvaardt contributed 44 off 25 balls, while Jemimah Rodrigues strengthened the innings with a well-crafted half-century. Lizelle Lee also provided early momentum with a brisk 37. However, despite posting a competitive total, Delhi's title drought continued as they suffered their fourth consecutive defeat in a WPL final.
Following the conclusion of the tournament, several players were recognised with individual honours for their exceptional performances. Each major award winner received a cash prize of ₹5 lakh.
