The second season of the Big Cricket League (BCL) is underway in Greater Noida, with six teams battling it out in the unique professional-amateur T20 competition.
After the opening two completed matches, UP Brij Stars sit at the top of the standings following their opening-night win over defending champions Mumbai Marines, while Gujarat Diamonds have also made an impressive start to their campaign.
The tournament, which runs from June 3 to June 13 at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida, features former international stars such as Shikhar Dhawan, Harbhajan Singh, Chris Gayle, Ross Taylor, Thisara Perera and Tillakaratne Dilshan alongside amateur cricketers selected through nationwide trials.

Defending Champions Under Pressure
Mumbai Marines entered the
tournament as defending champions after lifting the inaugural BCL title in 2024, defeating Southern Spartans in the final.
However, their title defence has got off to the worst possible start. First they were beaten by UP Brij Stars despite posting 171, before suffering a comprehensive 44-run defeat against Gujarat Diamonds.
With only 18 league-stage matches in the competition, Mumbai will need a quick turnaround to keep their playoff hopes alive.
