Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi went overboard after Pakistan Shaheens' victory over India A in the Asia Cup Rising Stars encounter on Sunday (November 16).
After a series of mauling
in the hands of India across various cricket tournaments, Pakistan finally had some joy as their young brigade beat the India A team comprehensively.
The Pakistani pacers bowled out India A for 136 in 19 overs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi top-scored with 45 runs, but the Indian batting lineup collapsed under pressure, with key wickets falling in quick succession. Pakistan Shaheens chased down the target comfortably in 13.2 overs, scoring 137 for 2 wickets. The left-handed opener Maaz Sadaqat was the star performer, remaining unbeaten on 79 runs off 47 balls and also contributing with the ball by taking 2 wickets. Despite a controversial catch decision that went Pakistan's way, Sadaqat carried on to power the chase, leading his team to an eight-wicket victory.
Although it was a well-deserved victory for Pakistan, Naqvi penned his celebrations, writing a celebratory message on his social media account.
"What a proud moment for Pakistan and for the Board today! Our Pakistan Shaheens defeated India A by 8 wickets, chasing down the target in 13.2 overs. A dominant, fearless, and unforgettable performance in the Asia Cup Rising Stars Tournament in Doha. Superb cricket by our young guns-the future of Pakistan is shining bright. Congratulations to the nation!" wrote Naqvi on his X profile.

Recently, Mohsin Naqvi also conratulated Pakistan for winning the Hong Kong Sixes, a tournament which is generally played by the retired players.

And his long post has been deemed comical by many fans, who have taken the laugh out of it. Pakistan have suffered defeat at the hands of India five times in the last couple of months. The Indian senior team thrashed them thrice in the Asia Cup, and then the Women's team also beat Pakistan in the Women's ODI World Cup.
Recently, Pakistan lost to India in the Hong Kong Sixes as well. Amid this, the solitary victory for the Shaheens has been lauded by the PCB supremo. Despite that, Pakistani fans mocked Naqvi and slammed him for degrading Pakistan cricket.
Mohsin Naqvi's sheer incompetence is actively damaging Pakistan Cricket. The PCB belongs to all Pakistanis, but his gross mismanagement and favoritism are tearing at the fabric of national unity. Shameful!
