With five franchises competing-Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and UP Warriorz - the auction is expected to reshape team dynamics significantly. Ahead of the auction, only 17 players were retained across these franchises, including seven overseas stars and three uncapped players, setting the stage for an intense bidding war among
a wealth of available talent.
Some notable retained players include Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, and the South African Marizanne Kapp for Delhi Capitals; Australian Ashleigh Gardner and Beth Mooney for Gujarat Giants; England's Natalie Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet Kaur for Mumbai Indians; and Indian stars Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. UP Warriorz opted for a fresh approach by retaining only Shweta Sehrawat, highlighting a major overhaul strategy.
