Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the 14-year-old cricket prodigy who lit up the Under-19 World Cup with a stunning unbeaten 175 off just 89 balls in the final against England in South Africa, is gearing up for a big homecoming reward before his next big outing.
Sooryavanshi has been a sensation in the last year or so, and his meteoric rise in cricket continues to achieve loftier heights.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi set for Motorcycle Gift
After the magnificent performance in the U19 World Cup, the teen sensation is expected to receive a long-overdue motorcycle gift during a promotional event in his hometown in Bihar after wrapping up his current training stint.
Vaibhav lives in Samastipur, a town around 85 kms away from the capital Patna, and the function will be held there. Although he is still ineligible
to ride a motorcycle, the young prodigy may ride home in the backseat with his new gift.
Right now, he's honing his skills at the Rajasthan Royals' facility in Talegaon near Nagpur, where the IPL prep camp runs until February 21.
"He is currently practising in Talegaon, where the Rajasthan Royals camp is underway. The camp will continue till February 21, after which Sooryavanshi will proceed to Patna and then to his hometown," a source was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to play in DY Patil T20 Tournament
From there, sources say he's likely headed straight to Mumbai for the prestigious DY Patil T20 tournament at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, starting February 23. Talks are advancing between his team and organizers, who usually field two squads in the 16-team event.
This annual T20 showdown, one of India's oldest since 2003, draws top talent ahead of IPL and often features international stars. Sooryavanshi is expected to play for one of the DY Patil teams in the competition. This involvement is an important one for the young Bihar sensation ahead of the IPL 2026 season.
