Juventus defeated Pisa 2-0 in Serie A, climbing to third place and closing within one point of leaders Inter. The scoreline looked comfortable, yet Juventus struggled for long spells, while Pisa, second from bottom, struck the frame twice and created several clear chances without earning any reward.
The visitors extended their winning sequence to three league matches since losing to Napoli, and seven victories from their last eight games in all competitions. That recent surge already beats Juventus’ return from the opening 16 fixtures, when they collected only six wins alongside eight draws and three defeats.
Numbers underline how tight the contest remained despite the final margin. Pisa generated 0.65 expected goals from eight attempts, yet did
not register a single effort on target while twice striking the woodwork. Juventus posted 1.43 expected goals, with 0.78 of that total coming from Kenan Yildiz’s decisive late strike.
| Team | Goals | Shots | Shots on target | xG | Woodwork hits |

Pisa’s struggles in front of goal continue to be severe. The hosts have now scored only once at home in Serie A during the 2025-26 campaign, the lowest home tally of any club across Europe’s top five leagues. That lack of cutting edge again proved decisive despite lengthy spells of pressure.
Juventus actually began on the front foot, but early openings went begging. Weston McKennie saw a shot from a tight angle beaten away by Adrian Semper, before Yildiz curled narrowly past the far post. Those misses allowed Pisa to settle and grow in confidence as the first half progressed.
Stefano Moreo almost punished Juventus in the 44th minute. Moreo escaped his marker from a short corner routine and met the delivery with a glancing header that crashed against the crossbar. After the interval, Samuele Angori bent an effort toward the top-left corner, which deflected inches wide three minutes into the second half.
The hosts’ closest period followed around the hour. Matteo Tramoni, left unmarked, headed against the post, then Lloyd Kelly drove a powerful strike against the goal frame moments later. Pisa’s wastefulness cost them on 73 minutes, when Arturo Calabresi, trying to hold off Pierre Kalulu and clear McKennie’s shot, sliced the ball past Semper for an own goal.
Juventus finished the contest stronger, creating more space on the break. Edon Zhegrova forced Semper into a sharp save, the goalkeeper tipping a rising attempt over the bar. Late on, Jonathan David produced a strong run and composed pass, leaving Yildiz free to roll the ball into an empty net and secure the 2-0 result.

The result keeps Juventus close to Inter in a congested Serie A title race, despite another display that lacked control for long spells. Pisa again left frustrated, having dominated periods, hit the frame twice and posted useful xG numbers, yet finished with no points and continuing problems converting pressure into goals.
