The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India A U19 and India B U19 squads for the upcoming IDFC FIRST Bank U19 Triangular Series.
The tournament will be held at the BCCI's Centre
of Excellence in Bengaluru from November 17 to 30, 2025. The triangular series will also feature Afghanistan U19 as the third competing team, providing a vital platform for young talents to showcase their skills ahead of next year's ICC U19 World Cup selection cycle.
Punjab batter Vihaan Malhotra has been named captain of the India U19 A squad, with Mumbai's Abhigyan Kundu appointed as vice-captain and wicketkeeper. The India U19 A team includes promising players such as Wafi Kachchhi, Vansh Acharya, Vineeth V.K, Lakshya Raichandani, and others coming from various cricket associations across India.
Hyderabad's Aaron George will lead the India U19 B squad, with Vedant Trivedi from Gujarat as his deputy. Notably, Rahul Dravid's son, Anvay Dravid, has been included in the India U19 B side, adding to the squad's strength. The B squad features young talents like Yuvraj Gohil, Maulyarajsinh Chavda, Rahul Kumar, and wicketkeepers Harvansh Singh and Anvay Dravid.
Some prominent names such as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre were not selected for this tournament due to their commitments with other teams - Sooryavanshi will be representing India A in the ACC Rising Stars Asia Cup, while Mhatre is engaged in the Ranji Trophy.
This series promises to be a competitive showcase of India's U19 cricketing future as they face off against each other and Afghanistan's U19 side on home soil.
