The All India Football Federation (AIFF), alongside owners and representatives from Indian Super League (ISL) clubs, met on Thursday to deliberate on a comprehensive commercial rights proposal presented by Genius Sports, the apex body announced on Thursday (April 23).
The meeting focused on a long-term strategic vision intended to elevate India's premier football competition into a globally recognized property.
Strategic Evolution and Global Benchmarking
Genius Sports detailed a partnership-driven framework aimed at enhancing the ISL's commercial sustainability and fan engagement. The proposal draws on methodologies utilized by established international leagues, including the English Premier League, Liga MX, and the Swiss Football League.
By leveraging its existing expertise-ranging from
officiating support in England to analytics for Nottingham Forest-Genius Sports aims to align the ISL with international standards of competition and data integration.
Technological Integration and Infrastructure
A primary pillar of the discussion was the modernization of the league's technical infrastructure. Key highlights included:
AI-Driven Officiating: The introduction of scalable tools to increase transparency and consistency in match officiating, planned for phased implementation.
