In a strange twist, Priyansh's attempt to dive back into the crease was hindered when his bat got stuck under wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella's foot. Despite the apparent obstruction, the dismissal stood, adding to the controversy surrounding the decision.

Earlier in the innings, India A suffered a shaky start as young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi failed to convert his promising beginning. The 15-year-old managed 14 runs, striking three boundaries, before being dismissed by Sri Lankan pacer Mohammed Shiraz. His opening partner Prabhsimran Singh also struggled, scoring just 2 runs off 11 deliveries before departing soon after.
'Quite Excited To See Him': Tilak Varma On Sooryavanshi's India A Debut
Ahead of the series, India A captain Tilak Varma had highlighted that the tour would serve as an important test for Sooryavanshi, particularly in challenging conditions.
"Everyone has seen how good he is. Everyone has seen him as well in U19 (World Cup), how he played in the finals, especially in one-day format," said India A skipper Tilak Varma on the eve of the match.
"We are quite excited to see him, how he plays in this format. For him, I feel coming in Sri Lanka and on slower wickets, it will be slightly changed for his batting role. But I am pretty confident that he will do well here as well," Tilak had added.
