India's journey to this World Cup was marked by a memorable triumph in 2024, where they remained unbeaten and showcased a blend of grit and skill. Apart from that, the Indian team also recently won the Asia Cup T20, beating Pakistan thrice in the competition.
India Schedule in T20 World Cup 2026
India are grouped in Group A along with arch-rivals Pakistan, while the likes of Netherlands, Namibia and USA are also in their group. Suryakumar Yadav and company will kickstart their campaign against USA at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Indian team play Namibia up next before taking on arch-rivals Pakistan on February 15. They will finish their group stage encounter against the Netherlands in Ahmedabad.
In terms of the Indian venues, Chennai and Kolkata haven't received a home team match in group stages. Rohit Sharma has been named as the brand ambassador for the T20 World Cup 2026, which also happens to be the 10th edition of the tournament.
"The boys are excited. When India comes to the picture, the emotion is different. Playing in India will be a different feeling. Yes, there will be pressure but it will be a great one for the unbelievable support from the people," Suryakumar Yadav says.
