Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli are taking different approaches to the sports-lifestyle market, with Pandya's HP33 collection with Sanspareils Greenlands (SG) leaning into premium streetwear and limited-edition footwear, while Kohli's one8 range, associated with Puma, has a broader focus on everyday sneakers and athletic versatility.
The contrast reflects two distinct ways of extending a cricketer's identity beyond the field. While HP33 uses exclusive designs, premium materials and collector-oriented releases to establish its appeal, one8 offers a wider range of footwear aimed at consumers looking for accessible lifestyle shoes and options for everyday training.
Both collections draw on the players' personal identities, but their product positioning,
pricing and approach to availability set them apart in India's competitive sportswear market.
Hardik Pandya's HP33: Premium Footwear With a Collector's Appeal
Pandya's HP33 collection, launched in collaboration with SG, takes its identity from the all-rounder's jersey number, 33. The range extends beyond footwear to include apparel and cricket equipment, combining lifestyle products with items connected to his sporting career.
Among its footwear offerings is the SG HP33 Cosmos Lifestyle Shoe, which features a retro silhouette, premium suede construction and an EVA midsole. The collection also includes more exclusive designs, such as the HP33 Privee and City editions, which are positioned at a higher price point.
The premium models place greater emphasis on distinctive design details and exclusivity. These include metal HP33 branding, specialised hardware and, on select models, 33 hand-sewn vamp stitches that reference Pandya's jersey number.
According to the supplied product information, the collection spans an entry-level price point of around Rs 3,499 for the Cosmos edition to approximately Rs 20,000-25,000 for select premium releases. Some limited-edition styles are listed as restricted to 33 pairs per design, reinforcing the collection's collector-focused positioning.
Beyond shoes, HP33 includes the Thirty-three Vest, Agile Tracksuit, Edge Trucker Cap, leather balls and a limited-edition English Willow bat. The collection is available through the TeamSG online store.
This broader product mix gives HP33 an identity that extends beyond conventional sports footwear, connecting Pandya's personal branding with streetwear and cricket memorabilia.
Virat Kohli's one8: Everyday Sneakers and Athletic Versatility
Kohli's one8 collection takes a different route, with footwear offerings that cater to a broader everyday market. Developed primarily through his association with Puma, the range includes casual sneakers and training shoes designed for daily wear, urban use and fitness activities.
Models such as the one8 Shuffle, Fame and Dart are positioned at more accessible price points, with the supplied comparison placing them in a range of approximately Rs 979 to Rs 3,999. The one8 Infusion training shoe sits higher, at around Rs 7,999.
Rather than relying primarily on restricted collector releases, one8's appeal centres on everyday usability and a wider range of consumers. Its footwear uses materials such as synthetic leather, mesh and textiles, with EVA-based soles and features designed for comfort and versatility.
The one8 insignia is a central part of the collection's visual identity, appearing across details such as the footbed, side panels and heel counter. The branding links the products to Kohli while retaining the familiar styling of commercial sportswear.
The range's broader price spread and availability through mainstream retail channels make it a different proposition from HP33's more exclusive premium models.

Pricing and Exclusivity: Two Different Consumer Strategies
The clearest distinction between the two collections is how they approach price and availability.
HP33's entry-level Cosmos model provides an accessible starting point, but its premium editions move into a substantially higher price bracket. The combination of distinctive design features, specialised materials and limited production runs is aimed at consumers who place value on exclusivity as well as the association with Pandya.
The one8 range, by comparison, covers a wider selection of everyday price points. Its lower-priced sneakers offer an entry point for consumers who want branded casual footwear without committing to the cost of a premium collector's release.
That difference does not mean one collection is universally better than the other. The appeal depends on what the buyer values: exclusivity and statement design, or everyday wearability and a broader choice of price points.
## Design and Performance: Streetwear Versus Everyday Utility
HP33's premium footwear places considerable emphasis on appearance and construction. Retro styling, suede uppers, metallic branding and model-specific details give the collection a distinct streetwear identity. Select models also feature Vibram rubber outsoles and OrthoLite comfort insoles, according to the supplied product details.
One8's footwear is positioned more around versatility, with designs intended for casual use, walking and training. Its combination of mesh, textile and synthetic materials reflects a more conventional sportswear approach.
However, product specifications alone do not establish which collection offers better performance. A meaningful assessment would require model-specific testing of comfort, durability, traction and suitability for particular activities. Neither collection should be treated as a substitute for specialised running or training footwear without considering the intended use of the individual shoe.
Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli: Two Approaches to Athlete Branding
The difference between HP33 and one8 extends beyond the footwear itself. Both collections use the identity of an established Indian cricketer to distinguish their products, but they emphasise different aspects of that identity.
HP33 connects Pandya's jersey number with premium styling, limited-edition products and cricket-related merchandise. Its appeal lies in combining personal branding with fashion and collectability.
One8 offers a broader everyday proposition, using Kohli's branding across lifestyle and training footwear at multiple price points. Its range is structured to serve consumers who want to incorporate an athlete-associated label into their daily wardrobe or fitness routine.
The two collections therefore occupy overlapping but distinct spaces in the market. HP33's premium releases target buyers interested in statement footwear and scarcity, while one8's broader range caters to a more mainstream lifestyle and athletic audience.
Which Collection Should Buyers Choose?
For consumers prioritising distinctive design, premium materials and the appeal of limited-edition releases, HP33's higher-end models offer a more collector-oriented proposition. The Cosmos edition provides a lower-cost entry point for those interested in Pandya's range without buying one of its premium designs.
For buyers seeking affordable everyday sneakers, casual footwear or versatile training shoes, one8 offers a wider spread of price points and models.
Ultimately, the comparison is less about deciding which cricketer has the better sneaker brand and more about understanding the different consumers each collection seeks to attract. Pandya's HP33 combines premium streetwear with exclusivity, while Kohli's one8 places greater emphasis on accessibility and everyday utility.
Both demonstrate how athlete-backed brands can extend a sporting identity into lifestyle products, but they are doing so through different combinations of design, pricing and market positioning.
