Day 2 of the Kabaddi Champions League (KCL) produced two gripping encounters, as Hisar Heroes edged past Bhiwani Bulls in a high-scoring thriller, while Panipat Panthers held their nerve to defeat Faridabad Fighters in a dramatic tie-breaker, underlining the competitive intensity of the league phase.
In Match 3, Hisar Heroes secured a hard-fought 41-38 victory over Bhiwani Bulls, driven by a sensational performance from star raider Ashu Malik. Ashu opened the scoring with a bonus-point raid, while Bulls' marquee raider Devank Dalal responded immediately to set the tempo. The opening exchanges were intense, with early tackles and quick revivals keeping the scores level.
At 5-5, Dalal took control, pushing Hisar into their first all-out as Bhiwani
built a strong lead. Contributions from Naveen Rawal and Sourav, including a super raid, kept the Bulls in command. However, Ashu Malik led a late fightback before halftime, reaching his Super 10 and helping Hisar cut the deficit to 19-20 at the break.
The second half saw momentum swing decisively. Hisar inflicted an early all-out, though Dalal responded with a super raid to briefly restore Bhiwani's lead. With Hisar reduced to one man, Ashu produced a match-turning raid to avoid an all-out and swing momentum. Ashu went on to become the first raider of the tournament to score 20 raid points, while Nitesh Kumar anchored the defence. A late all-out against the Bulls proved decisive as Hisar held on for the win despite a late Bhiwani surge.
In Match 4, Panipat Panthers claimed a dramatic victory over Faridabad Fighters after a 26-26 tie at full time, before dominating the tie-breaker 9-2. The opening half was closely contested, with both teams trading points and neither side able to establish clear control. Faridabad gained momentum through Rohit Guliya, but Panipat stayed in touch through strong defensive efforts from Deepanshu Khatri and raids by Narender Kandola and Ashish Narwal, heading into halftime with a narrow 14-13 lead.
Faridabad struck back early in the second half to move ahead, extending their advantage to 21-17, but Panipat mounted a spirited comeback in the final quarter. Late raids from Pawan Hooda and a crucial defensive stand forced a tie at the final whistle.
In the tie-breaker, Panipat Panthers were dominant, with Meetu Sharma leading the raids and Deepanshu Khatri delivering key tackles. Panipat restricted Faridabad to just two points, sealing the contest 9-2 and closing out a memorable Day 2 of action.
With momentum building and points becoming increasingly crucial, Day 2 reinforced the competitive depth of the Kabaddi Champions League as teams continue their push up the standings.
