India named a 12-member shotgun squad for the year's second ISSF World Cup Shotgun stage. The meet ran in Almaty, Kazakhstan, with team arrivals on May 02, 2026. Organisers listed 284 athletes from 42 national Olympic committees. Shooters competed across five Olympic events during the 10-day programme.
Alongside the main squad, eight Indians travelled as RPO (ranking points only) shooters. The World Cup followed India's first international outing of the season in Tangier, Morocco, in March. With a deep entry list expected, Indian shooters faced a busy week of qualifiers and medal rounds.
Competition opened with men's and women's skeet qualifiers on May 04, 2026. The skeet finals followed on May 05, 2026. Organisers placed both trap finals on May 9th.
The final medal event, the trap mixed team, was set for May 10th, 2026.
Day one featured three Indian Olympians in action. Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Anantjeet Singh Naruka shot in the men's skeet. Raiza Dhillon competed in the women's skeet. The event marked the first international appearance this year for all three.
India's shooters went up against Italians, plus strong teams from Finland and Denmark. Other key nations included Czech Republic, Cyprus, Greece, Peru and Qatar. Hosts Kazakhstan entered a quality squad. China also had strong numbers, while Russia competed as Individual Neutral Athletes (AIN).
