Hylo Open 2026: PV Sindhu Leads Indian Challenge as Lakshya Sen, Ayush Shetty Battle Injuries; Live Streaming & Full Squad Details

New Delhi, Oct 27: India will field a formidable lineup in women's singles at the HYLO Open 2026, which gets underway in SaarbrÜcken today. Leading the charge is PV Sindhu, fresh from her runner-up finish at the YONEX French Open 2026 on Sunday, as she looks to carry her momentum into the next tournament.

The Indian contingent also features sixth seed Unnati Hooda, Aakarshi Kashyap, Devika Sihag, Malvika Bansod, Isharani Baruah, Anmol Kharb and Ashmita Chaliha. Several shuttlers arrive on the back of impressive performances this season. Hooda reached the Taipei Open semifinals, Sihag won the Thailand Masters, Chaliha made the Macau Open semifinals, Baruah finished runner-up at the Vietnam Open, and Kashyap secured second place at the Dutch Open.

Chaliha also grabbed headlines in France last week by defeating world No. 2 Akane Yamaguchi.

However, the area of concern for the Indian contingent will be the men's singles, which has been in steady decline this year since the start of the BWF World Tour calendar. All eyes will be on Lakshya Sen and Ayush Shetty, who will be expected to make inroads into the tournament. But both the Indian shuttlers are nursing injuries that they sustained during the French Open.

While Sen withdrew from his French Open first-round match on medical grounds, Ayush retired hurt against Naroka.
