Norris initially finished second, he was later disqualified for excessive skid block wear, as was his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri.
With only two races remaining in Qatar and Abu Dhabi, Norris's lead in the Drivers' Championship is narrow. He holds just a 24-point advantage over Verstappen, who is now tied with Piastri for second place. The upcoming sprint race in Qatar adds pressure on Norris to perform without mistakes.
Norris expressed his disappointment with McLaren's performance compared to Red Bull. "It's disappointing we are not doing a better job as a team, myself included," he stated. Despite their win in Brazil, Norris felt they lacked speed compared to Verstappen and Red Bull.
He acknowledged the challenge posed by Verstappen and Red Bull's pace. "Max is doing a very good job, and the Red Bull car seems very quick," Norris noted. He emphasised the need for McLaren to improve their performance significantly.

The pressure is mounting as the season nears its end. With Verstappen closing in, Norris knows there is little room for error if he wants to maintain his lead in the championship standings.
Norris's determination to improve reflects his competitive spirit. "I just hate getting beat, simple as that," he said. His focus remains on enhancing both his own performance and that of his team as they approach the final races of the season.
