Juventus climbed into fourth place in the Serie A standings after a dominant 5-0 home victory over Cremonese at Allianz Stadium on Monday, exploiting dropped points by Inter, AC Milan and Napoli across the weekend to tighten the gap to the leading trio in the title and Champions League qualification race.
The result extended a strong sequence under Luciano Spalletti. Since the beginning of November, when Spalletti took charge, only Inter have earned more Serie A points, with Inter collecting 25 points and eight wins during that stretch, while Juventus have taken 24 points and seven victories across the same period.
Juventus delivered their most prolific league outing in years, scoring at least five goals in a Serie A match for the first time since
a 7-0 win over Sassuolo in February 2018. Their attacking output overwhelmed Cremonese, who struggled to create many clear opportunities despite having some possession spells.
The hosts produced 18 attempts and kept Emil Audero busy with 11 shots on target, generating 3.38 expected goals (xG). Cremonese managed nine efforts but hit the target only twice, for 0.91 xG. The statistical gulf reflected the scoreline, underlining Juventus’ efficiency in both finishing and chance creation.
Juventus started sharply, immediately threatening when Jonathan David struck the post from a tight angle. The pressure told after 12 minutes as Bremer reacted quickest in the area, diverting Fabio Miretti’s goalbound shot beyond Audero. Three minutes later, a rapid break saw Kephren Thuram release David, who found the bottom-right corner to make it 2-0.
Cremonese thought they had a route back when awarded a penalty in the 27th minute, but the decision was overturned after review, and Davide Nicola received a red card for protests. Soon after, Juventus gained a spot-kick for Federico Baschirotto’s handball. Kenan Yildiz saw the effort pushed onto the post but reacted to convert the rebound on 35 minutes.
Cremonese’s difficulties continued after the interval. Juventus stretched the score to four when Matteo Bianchetti diverted Weston McKennie’s cross against the back of a sliding Filippo Terracciano, resulting in an own goal. McKennie later added the fifth himself with a powerful header, before another David finish was ruled out for offside in the closing stages.

The emphatic win strengthened Juventus’ push near the top of Serie A, closing the distance to Inter, AC Milan and Napoli while extending an impressive run under Spalletti. With attacking confidence growing and defensive control evident against Cremonese, Juventus maintained momentum in both the league table and underlying performance metrics.
