Kolkata Knight Riders registered a commanding victory over Delhi Capitals in a crucial IPL 2026 encounter on Friday (May 8) as the won the match by 8 wickets.
Chasing a modest 143, KKR romped home to 147/2 in just 14.2 overs, propelled by an unbeaten 100 off 47 balls from New Zealand opener Finn Allen (5 fours, 10 sixes). The victory not only boosted KKR's playoff hopes but virtually ended DC's slim chances in the 2026 season.
KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to bowl first on a surface that offered early assistance to the spinners. DC got off to a promising start, racing to 49/1 in the powerplay, with Pathum Nissanka smashing a rapid 50 off just 29 balls (5 fours, 3 sixes).
