Two hungry Thai strikers with contrasting experience levels but identical dreams collide when veteran Pompet PongSuphan PK faces surging brawler Decho Por Borirak in a flyweight Muay Thai main event at ONE Friday Fights 138 on 16 January, where a coveted six-figure contract hangs in the balance.
The 27-year-old Pompet brings 109 career victories from 161 total fights into this high-stakes matchup. The veteran Thai striker holds seven promotional wins with four finishes, demonstrating his finishing ability against quality opposition.
Pompet has studied Decho's aggressive brawling style extensively and identified specific openings to exploit. He recognizes his younger opponent's dangerous high kicks but feels confident in his ability to slip and counter
those attacks with precision boxing.
"Decho is a dangerous brawler with a massive engine. He likes to throw high kicks, so I'm ready to slip and counter those. Also, when he throws knees, I noticed his left guard tends to drop. That's an opening I'm definitely looking to exploit with my boxing," Pompet explained.
"It's going to be a banger. Decho isn't afraid of my hands, and he's definitely coming to fight. But my body is ready to trade shots too. If I see an opening, I want another highlight-reel finish to boost my chances for that ONE Championship contract. "
Decho welcomes ONE Friday Fights test
His opponent, 22-year-old Decho, carries 48 career victories and three promotional wins. While less experienced at the ONE Friday Fights level, a victory over Pompet could significantly improve his chances of securing the life-changing contract.
Decho acknowledges Pompet's dangerous boxing but refuses to show fear. The 22-year-old Thai striker welcomes opportunities to trade strikes while highlighting his commitment to fighting smartly and executing his team's strategic game plan.
"If there's an opening to trade, I'm game. But I'll be playing it smart and following the plan. We've worked on my left and right strikes to catch him as he comes in, or even beat him to the punch," Decho said.
"I just want to get through this one first. Winning this will definitely boost my confidence and open up more opportunities. My main goal for 2026 is to secure that ONE Championship contract. "
