The Washington Wizards will select first in the NBA Draft Lottery 2026 after securing the top pick in Chicago. The lottery results were announced on 10 May 2026, giving Washington its first No. 1 selection since 2010. The draft itself is scheduled for 23 June in New York.
Washington finished with the worst record in the NBA, which helped secure strong lottery odds and renewed focus on rebuilding. John Wall, chosen first by the Wizards in 2010, served as the team’s on-stage representative, linking the franchise’s last top pick to this new opportunity.
The Utah Jazz received the second overall pick in the NBA Draft Lottery 2026, with the Memphis Grizzlies landing third. The Chicago Bulls moved up to the fourth slot despite only holding the ninth-highest
probability for the No. 1 selection, producing one of the night’s biggest jumps.

The Los Angeles Clippers hold the fifth pick, with the Brooklyn Nets set to choose sixth in the NBA Draft Lottery 2026 order. The Sacramento Kings sit seventh, followed by the Atlanta Hawks at eighth and Dallas Mavericks ninth. The Milwaukee Bucks complete the top ten, ahead of Golden State Warriors, Oklahoma City Thunder, Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets.
Before the NBA Draft Lottery 2026 drawing, Washington, Brooklyn and Indiana each carried 14 per cent odds for the top pick. Utah and Sacramento followed with 11.5 per cent chances. Atlanta held 9.8 per cent, Memphis 9 per cent and Dallas 6.7 per cent. Chicago’s jump came from 4.5 per cent odds.
The remaining lottery teams entered with slimmer hopes in the NBA Draft Lottery 2026. Golden State had a 2 per cent shot at No. 1. Oklahoma City’s chances stood at 1.5 per cent, while Miami’s were 1 per cent. Charlotte’s probability was the lowest among the 14 teams, at just 0.5 per cent.
This year’s draft class is described as one of the deepest in decades, adding further weight to the NBA Draft Lottery 2026 results. BYU’s AJ Dybantsa, Kansas’ Darryn Peterson and Duke’s Cameron Boozer are widely expected to be the first three names called, shaping early projections for the top of the board.
Several other prospects also carry strong expectations heading into the NBA Draft Lottery 2026 selections. North Carolina’s Caleb Wilson, Arkansas’ Darius Acuff Jr., Illinois’ Keaton Wagler and Yaxel Lendeborg from national champion Michigan are all projected to develop into key NBA players, giving teams across the lottery meaningful options.
For Washington and the rest of the NBA Draft Lottery 2026 field, the combination of a deep class and clear order now sharpens planning for 23 June. Franchises such as the Jazz, Grizzlies and Bulls will assess whether to build around their selections or explore alternative roster strategies.
