Everton came from behind to beat Fulham 2-1, as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall marked a key return from injury and David Moyes’ side extended their unbeaten run to five matches, climbing above Fulham in the Premier League table and strengthening hopes of European qualification after securing a late winner at Craven Cottage.
The visitors are now enjoying their longest unbeaten away sequence since a nine-match stretch in the 2020/21 campaign, while this defeat was Fulham’s first home loss in two months, underlining how significant the result was for both clubs in the context of the current Premier League season.
Moyes highlighted how valuable Dewsbury-Hall is to Everton, with the midfielder having recently missed seven matches because of a hamstring problem
before rejoining the squad last week, and then delivering a decisive performance that included the equalising goal during a tense second half in west London.
The former Leicester and Chelsea player now has four goals in the last eight Premier League appearances, matching the total from Dewsbury-Hall’s first 82 league games, a surge in output that has given Everton another reliable scoring option from midfield at an important stage of the season.
Reflecting on that form and the lay-off, Moyes told BBC Sport: "He was doing great [prior to his injury], scoring good goals for us," said Moyes to BBC Sport. "He is just coming back from a hamstring injury and is just finding his way but he is finding his way in a good way for us, scoring good goals and playing well. "
Fulham controlled the opening period and went ahead when Vitaliy Mykolenko diverted the ball into the Everton net for an own goal, though the hosts also struck the crossbar twice through long-range efforts from Emile Smith-Rowe and Samuel Chukwueze, while Jordan Pickford produced two vital saves to keep Everton in touch.
Everton looked sharper after the interval and eventually levelled in the 75th minute, as Mykolenko advanced deep inside the Fulham penalty area and squared for Dewsbury-Hall, who calmly guided a low finish past Bernd Leno to reward the improved approach and shift the momentum of the Premier League contest.
The decisive moment arrived in the 83rd minute when sustained Everton pressure forced a corner, Leno came for the cross but misjudged the flight and, while attempting to punch clear, diverted the ball into the Fulham goal for an own goal that completed the comeback and silenced the home support.
Moyes stressed how important the result is in the wider Premier League picture, with Everton moving above Fulham and into serious contention around the European qualification positions, while also proving they can win away against a side that had built strong home form over the previous two months.
Moyes said: "I think every win in the Premier League is significant, especially against a side that have been on a really good run in good form. This was a tough game for us, it always has been here but thankfully we were able to turn things around and get three points. "

Everton Fulham Premier League: Silva laments missed chances
Marco Silva, however, was left frustrated by Fulham’s performance, especially after a first half where several chances went begging and the hosts could not translate dominance into a bigger advantage, which later allowed Everton to respond and overturn the match with two second-half goals.
The Fulham head coach told BBC Sport: "The game at half time should have been decided, he told BBC Sport. "It should have been 4-0, 4-1. At this level you have to be ruthless. It was a good first half and second half was completely the opposite. The way we lost this afternoon should be a real learning point for us because at this level you cannot be soft and we were too soft. The way we defended, we are too soft. "
Everton leave Craven Cottage with an important away win, extended momentum, and Dewsbury-Hall back contributing goals, while Fulham must reflect on missed first-half opportunities, defensive errors in the closing stages, and the need for greater ruthlessness if Silva’s side are to maintain their push within this Premier League campaign.
