Theft Aboard Train
Shanu Saju and his sister, residents of Puthrncruz in Ernakulam, found themselves victims of a theft while on their journey back home aboard the Pune-Kanyakumari Express. The incident, which saw the loss
of items valued at approximately ₹80,000, occurred while they were in an AC coach. The stolen possessions included a laptop, a tablet, a power bank, a hard disk, and a sum of cash. Adding to their distress, a credit card, a debit card, and a driving license were also taken by the unidentified perpetrators. The siblings had boarded the train in Pune on April 3rd, and it is believed the theft took place sometime after their departure, as they only realized their belongings were missing when the train reached the Solapur railway station.
Reporting and Investigation
Upon their arrival back in Ernakulam, the affected siblings promptly filed a formal complaint with the railway police. Given that the incident of robbery took place within the jurisdiction of Maharashtra state, the case will now be transferred to the Maharashtra police for further investigation. This ensures that the authorities best positioned to pursue the culprits and recover the stolen property are involved. The police are expected to initiate a thorough inquiry into the matter, reviewing available evidence and potentially interviewing witnesses to identify the individuals responsible for the theft.
