This figure represents a remarkable increase of approximately 1,500 applications compared to the previous academic year. The university has received these applications even with two full months still remaining before the official commencement of the session, highlighting a growing eagerness among international scholars to join LU's academic community. The enthusiasm for Lucknow University's programs is no longer confined to its immediate neighbors. This year's application statistics reveal a broad geographic spread, with notable interest emanating from European countries like Hungary and Poland, alongside significant engagement from African nations such as Nigeria, Tanzania, and Botswana. Within Asia, students from Nepal, Vietnam, and Bangladesh have expressed considerable interest, with Bangladesh emerging as the country with the highest number of applications. This wide array of nationalities underscores the university's increasing international recognition and its ability to attract students from a truly global perspective.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, Lucknow University has seen its international applicant numbers soar to 3,421. This substantially surpasses the 2,083 applications received during the prior session, spanning 2025-2026. The university spokesperson, Mukul Srivastava, highlighted that this impressive figure was achieved well in advance of the application deadline, with two months still available for further submissions. This record-breaking number of applications not only demonstrates the growing appeal of Lucknow University but also signals a robust and expanding international student body for the upcoming academic year.
